The highest-paid medical malpractice lawsuit settlement of all time involves obstetric negligence and falsified medical records with an award of $74.5 Million dollars. Of the top 10 largest medical malpractice claims, 50% involve allegations of oxygen deprivation and birth injury. This presentation will dissect several claims and offer solutions to mitigate risk to providers and facilities caring for this high-risk population.
